Who We Are

Founded in 1890, The D.S. Brown Company is a leading worldwide designer, supplier, and manufacturer of engineered products for the bridge, airport and highway industries. As technology has evolved and influenced our means of transportation, D.S. Brown too has evolved to meet the needs of the current times. From our humble beginnings in manufacturing horse collars and saddles to our current focus on the manufacturing of high-quality infrastructure construction products under Gibraltar Industries, D.S. Brown has been there for over a century to help the world move forward.

Scott Jenkins

Vice President/General Manager

In his role, Scott is responsible for the on-going operations of the business, strategic & financial planning, and works across all functional areas to deliver monthly, quarterly, and annually against the company’s financial and business targets. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and has extensive experience in general management, sales, marketing, and product development. Outside of work, he enjoys time spent with his wife, two adult children, and three adorable grandchildren.

Tom Lewis

Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service

Tom has been with the company for 31 years.  He utilizes his cross-functional experience and industry expertise to lead the growth of the company, and enhance the customer experience.  Tom is a Minnesota native and enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors, fishing, hunting, skiing, swimming, or just relaxing at the lake.

Greg Spillane

Director of New Product Development and Engineering

In this role, Greg has responsibility for the product development team, ongoing development and implementation of product strategies, as well as championing the stage gate process. Greg works with the sales team to further understand market needs, as well as the voice of the customer, and continues to drive the innovation platform for The D.S. Brown Company. Away from work, Greg enjoys bicycle touring and golf.

Kristen Ward

Director of Human Resources

In her role, Kristen is responsible for advancing the company’s talent strategies by establishing a solid talent acquisition function, partnering with leaders to develop strong succession plans and development programs, and driving strategic initiatives that help support our business’ ongoing financial success.  She has a BS in Management and MBA from Purdue University, as well as SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications, and has extensive experience in human resources and labor relations. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs, fly fishing and hunting, and riding her motorcycles.

Chris Allen

Sr. Manager, Materials Management and Quality

In his role, Chris is responsible for directing and coordinating all supply chain activities.  Chris also leads the quality assurance and compliance team to deliver top quality products to all customers. Chris holds a BS in Aerospace Technology and Master of Business Administration from Kent State University. Away from work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and camping around the Great Lakes region.

As a worldwide leader in the industry, D.S. Brown conducts business throughout North America, Asia, the Pacific Rim, India, and the Middle East.

Through fully integrated operations and an in-house engineering team, D.S. Brown is able to tackle challenging construction projects with engineered solutions that meet specific project requirements.
